Privacy policy

1. Introduction

This privacy policy describes how Prevo ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our desktop application and website at tryprevo.com. Prevo is operated under the jurisdiction of the United Arab Emirates.

2. How the app works

Prevo is a desktop application that turns raw iPhone, iPad and Mac screenshots into App Store marketing screens. Your projects, the screenshots you import, your captions, your styling and your exported sets are stored on your Mac. Layout, rendering and export are performed on your device using your Mac's native frameworks.

Some features send data off your Mac, and each one runs only when you start it: the features that use AI, which today are writing captions and localizing a set, and uploading to App Store Connect. Sections 3.4 and 3.5 describe what is sent in each case. If you never use those features, no screenshot ever leaves your Mac through Prevo.

Prevo requires an internet connection. Beyond the features above, the app contacts our licensing service to validate your license, check your AI Credit balance, and install updates, and it sends product usage analytics as described in section 3.6. None of that carries your project content.

3. Data we collect

3.1 Purchase data

When you purchase a license, we collect your name, email address, and payment information through our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy). We do not store your credit card details. Lemon Squeezy handles all payment processing securely.

3.2 License data

We store your license key, its activation status, and a device identifier so we can enforce our one-Mac-at-a-time policy and track your AI Credit balance. This data is held by Lemon Squeezy and by our licensing service for validation purposes. It contains no project content.

3.3 Your projects and screenshots

To be explicit: we do not collect, store, or have access to your projects, your imported screenshots, your styling, or your exported sets. They live on your Mac, and deleting a project deletes it.

3.4 Features that use AI

Some features in Prevo use AI. Today those are writing captions, where the screenshot being captioned is sent to the AI providers we use so a draft can be written, and localizing a set, where the caption text being translated is sent the same way. We may add other AI features as the app develops, and when we do, the rules in this section apply to them too.

Any of this happens only when you start it. What is sent is what that feature needs to produce your result, and it is sent for nothing else. We keep no copy of it once the result comes back. What a provider may do with data sent to it is set out in that provider's own policy. The providers we work with may change as the technology does, and this policy is updated when they do.

3.5 Uploading to App Store Connect

When you press Upload, your finished screenshots are sent from your Mac directly to Apple, using the App Store Connect credentials you provided. They do not pass through our servers and we keep no copy. What Apple does with them is governed by your agreement with Apple.

Your App Store Connect credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain on your own machine. We never receive them.

3.6 Usage analytics

The app sends product usage data to Mixpanel so we can see which features get used and where people get stuck. That means events such as a project being created, a set being exported, or an upload finishing, together with basic technical details like your Prevo version and your macOS version.

To be explicit: analytics events carry none of your work. We do not send your screenshots, your captions, your project names, or your exported files.

We may use other analytics providers alongside or instead of Mixpanel as the product develops, and this policy is updated when we do.

4. Your rights over your data

You may ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@tryprevo.com and we will respond within 30 days. This covers your purchase data and your analytics data.

Your projects, screenshots and exported sets never reach our servers, so there is nothing of that kind for us to hand over or delete. Content sent to an AI provider is processed to deliver the result you asked for and is not retained, so the same applies.

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. The exceptions are the services that make Prevo work:

Our website uses essential cookies for session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies, and tryprevo.com runs no analytics of its own. The analytics described in section 3.6 are in the app, not on this website.

7. Children's privacy

Prevo is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app or website constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
